For years I tried to figure out a good way of getting a decent smooth level finish on my laneway. This product has done the job! I like how compact it is for storeage and how light weight it is for handling.

Disappointing drag mat
Posted by: Rick65 from Texas on 03/18/2013
Rating: Product Review Stars: 3.00 star rating
The product is not what I expected. The quality is there the ease of use is there but I feel like half of the drag mat is missing. I fully expected a 60 X 60 drag mat and received a 60" X 24" (maybe 30") mat which works okay but is a disappointment.....partly my fault I did not check out the full dimensions of what I purchased but after reviewing the literature didn't find but the width dimension shown.
Response from DR SupportWe're sorry you are disappointed in the Drag Screen. Is the disappointment in the performance or the size? We went with this size based on our test results trying to keep to a minimum weight/best results ratio.

Q.Can I just drag this behind my lawn tractor after I roto-hog my garden?
A.Thank you for your inquiry. The drag screen is designed to pull behind our Power Grader to create a "finished" surface (like on a driveway, baseball field or riding ring). It attaches with two caribiners approximately 48" or 60" apart (depending on model). In order to attach to a tractor directly, it would be necessary to have something to clip it to, like a horizontal tow bar. That said, it is not intended for gardens. I hope this answers your question.

Q.How much does the grader drag weigh?
And could this be adapted for pulling behind an ATV without the Power Grader? Will it be heavy enough to smooth out a farm yard where I have to drive in circles rather than going one direction then turning around and going in a straight line next to the first straight line? The farm yard is bumpy with dips in the ground. Using a tractor with pulling tractor parts is a bumpy ride and it's a little large for the size of the yard.
A.The Power Grader Drag Screen is designed to smooth out loose soil and stone's, if your yard already has grass growing on it, the Drag Screen will not smooth it out. The 48 inch Drag Screen weigh's 27 lbs and the 60 inch weigh's 33 lbs. Please contact us if you have any more question's.

Q.Poewr grader and seeding new lawn
I see a comment on the webpage that this can be useful for seeding a new lawn, any details on how to use it for that?
A.The Power Grader was originally designed for resurfacing driveways, but over the years, we have found the Power Grader performs well at other grading jobs. It does an excellent job for smoothing riding rings, ball fields and even for preparing new lawn areas to be seeded. As long as there is no vegetation to clog the scarifying teeth, it will work. The optional Drag Screen is ideal for sandy areas. While the Power Grader's teeth dig into the surface, it will leave some small lines. The Drag Screen will smooth the lines out leaving a nice finish. It is also great for spreading seed on a new lawn. It will help to spread the seed around nice and evenly and still keep the surface smooth.
