Features
Trimmer line for a DR walk-behind string trimmer

Super-duty Cutting Cords

All DR Trimmer/Mowers accept super-thick 175 mil cutting cords—the thickest, longest-lasting in the industry (so you spend more time mowing and less time changing cords).

Trimmer head on a DR walk-behind string trimmer

No Wrapping

Unlike most trimmers, the DR wide-body design prevents vegetation from wrapping and tangling around the trimmer head (which tends to stall the engine. Even in tall grass, the DR Trimmer Mower keeps on keeping on.

Patented cord attachment system on a DR walk-behind string trimmer

Patented Cord Attachment System

Cords go on in seconds, no tools required. Choose from 5 different cutting height adjustments (1.5" to 3.5") at the same time you attach your cords. No tools and no extra time required. Set the cutting height low for trimming, or set it high for off-lawn mowing of tall grass and weeds.

Briggs and Stratton engine on a DR walk-behind string trimmer

Briggs & Stratton Engine

The legendary power, performance and durability of Briggs & Stratton® engines make them excellent choices for use on our Trimmer Mowers. They are easy to start, comfortable to use, and feature a debris management system that protects the engine from whatever you kick up while you’re cutting.

Cast aluminum nose plate and trimmer head on a DR walk-behind string trimmer

Cast Aluminum Nose Plate

The DR Trimmer/Mower's cast aluminum nose plate protects it against damage from collisions. Bumps and scrapes are inevitable when you're working, but you can ensure that they don't damage your machine.

Optional Beaver Blade on a DR walk-behind string trimmer

Optional Beaver Blade for the big stuff

The optional Beaver Blade turns your trimmer into a chainsaw on wheels. Cuts trees up to 3" in diameter quickly and easily. It's the perfect way to take down stands of "weed trees" without bending over or dropping to your knees like you have to with a normal chainsaw.

Optional Quick-Lock Trimmer Head on a DR walk-behind string trimmer

Optional Quick-Lock Trimmer Head

Allows you to change your trimmer cord in just seconds—completely hassle-free! Cord is simply inserted into the head and is anchored in place by the unique gripping mechanism! Perfect for quick cord changes in the field, and for those who often trim dense thickets of weeds.

DuraBlades on a DR walk-behind string trimmer

Optional DuraBlades for 3/8" Thick Brush

With our optional DR DuraBlades you can quickly swap out your cutting cords with metal blades, embedded in a high-tech polymer, that slice through woody material up to 3/8" thick!

A Must Have!

Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
I bought this because I have 20 acres of property and this spring I spent over a month clearing brush along my driveway using hand held tools. This has been one of the best things I’ve ever bought for myself! I could have easily done in 2 hours what I spent a month doing . I debated about the self propelled as I’m a gal who is 115 pounds but I have no problem pushing this thru thick brush. Vines get wrapped around it and then it chews them up and spits em out! I only wished I had bought this sooner. My friends see my before and after pics and tell me I should be working for the company!

What a great time saver! I was able to cutdown the long weeds around my pond in record time. Even used it to cut down the tall grass and small bushes that took over the shady ground under my big trees. With the beaver blade attachment small trees are cut with little effort. Every rural home should have one of these.

I have been using my DR Trimmer Mower in a fairly dusty area. Dry California weeds that needed to be knocked down for fire safety. The trimmer worked well but I did have some problems with dirt getting in the front belt pulley and making the trimmer head not spin. It would help if there was an easy way to easily blow out the dirt from the front. I did a huge area fairly quickly and have found the blue trimmer line to be the best so far. I love the electric start!

Powerful engine
Posted by: Gary J. from Ashton, ID on 08/09/2018
Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
Just today put the oil in and the gas in and poked the blue cords into place and turned the key. And walla, it started right up at the first turn of the key. So happy that I spent the extra money for that convenience. The engine sounded very powerful, and I tried it out in area's around the property where grass weeds had grown up 2 to 2.5 feet tall. They were thick, and I could not see the ground at all. It cut through that with procision, and fast, without bogging down the engine at all. Only had time for a 30 min. first test, but I told my wife that it has already exceeded my expectations. I had been using a Steele hand held weed eater and it just would wear me out. I am in good shape, but am 74 years young, and this will aid me in slowing down the stress and worry about going out and straining my back. Thanks DR :

The trimmer met, and actually exceed all out expectations. Dealing with just under an acre of land that hasn't been maintained in many years, in a very reasonable period of time, I was able to tackle the majority of this property. The trimmer easily cut through all weeds and other plants including small trees. This one really made a difference.

needs improvement for handling
Posted by: JEAN L. from PORT ORCHARD, WA on 07/14/2018
Rating: Product Review Stars: 4.00 star rating
It works okay, slight little problem for handling, IE lifting it up, for maintenance and transportation. I lifted or try to lift it out my little trailer, and not really having a another lift point in front, I wound up putting my hand under the heat shield, wrong place and I almost cut of my finger off. Suggestion mount an additional handle in front, IE T bar or something that you can grab, other than putting your hand under the engine. A T handle would be an easy fix, drill hole on top where it does not interfere with the moving parts underneath, threat hole and insert and lock with a nut.

I used my trimmer for the first time, today. I was well pleased how it cut weeds that a normal weed eater wouldn't. It is very quiet running. It is very easy to operate. I like that it throws the weeds away from you. It will be great for heavy poison Ivey type areas. I bought the optional quick change head: going to be great! I bought the beaver blade, but plan to use it, this Fall.

We have been looking for a mower that could deal with 10 acres of grass and thistle that when neglected grows to 3 feet in height. The DR 8.75 PRO-XL mows EVERYTHING down with no problem. Not only is it a great mower, but the technical support people are always there to walk you through any questions or problems that might arise. I can't say enough about this piece of machinery. I wish we had discovered it years ago. This was our best recent investment in our ranch tool inventory.

I love this machine! It gets with it. We have 10 acres and that is the reason I purchased this. Mainly to go along fence lines, around trees and areas where our big tractor can't get to. Weed eaters work well, but I get tired of pulling on them to start. The electric start is heaven for me. I have two issues with this product. 1-your video shows this moving with ease while you are cutting, but if you hit a rut or a hole its takes a little muscle to maneuver around. 2-I wish changing/adding cutting line would be easier. Not that I can't do it, but having a full head of string to just change out would be super! Would I buy another or recommend this product to anyone Absolutely!! I love it!

Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
Killed my last mower on 2 acres of heavy brush and brambles and everything at Lowes and Home Depot looked wimpy and costs in the $200 range. Took the chance with the 8.75 model even with the pain of the high price tag. Just received it and boy it is worth Every penny spent!! What used to take me hours of back breaking work, now takes me 1 hour. This thing will chew up anything and come back for more. If I had to chose a negative, it would have to be that although this thing is great, it is a powerful machine and will pick up small items and throw them quite a distance. Watch your cars, home windows, etc.

I bought this mower for a small ranch property. It is a workhorse! I upgraded to the quick lock head and used the blue cord. I trimmed tall grass for about 2 hours along fence lines and around some buildings. I did not have to replace any cords. This stuff is great! The same job with my handheld weed wacker would have used a whole spool of cord.

My husband and I have both used the trimmer. He loves the ease of trimming our yard in town. I am the one using it on raw land we bought. First, it starts with ease. Second, I had to learn how to use the blade with trees but it will take down 2 inch trees. I have probably taken out over 100 so far in only 2 weekends of use. Third, I do love its ease of use particularly with the trimmer on raw land as I take out woody underbrush around the trees I am keeping. Yes, I would highly recommend this trimmer. It has made my work so much easier.

This is an excellent product and good value. It is our first trimmer of this type. So, our point of reference is other equipment and the DR Trimmer compares favorably. As soon as it arrived we went to work on our Florida acreage/ jungle:) It performed perfectly chewing up all in its path. Looking forward to trying the blades and the heavy duty head/ cords and maybe even the beaver blade. Lost one star for a minor points: Can't purchase with the upgraded mower head. Need to buy both. Tipping it back on the handle to change cords causes gas to leak out the cap--easiest to change cords when low on gas. Otherwise your putting the machine up on a platform or lying on the ground. Neither issue is a big deal.

I looked at these machines online for several years and finally decided to take the plunge and make the investment. I'm kicking myself for waiting that long! I have 3.5 acres, almost all of it fenced, with a LOT of areas that need trimming, including the fence line. Using a hand held string trimmer it was impossible for me to keep things neat. At times I hired someone to help keep it up. No more - this machine easily allows me to do the job now. I bought the quick change head - it's so easy to replace the lines. I also bought the beaver blade but I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet. All of the directions were clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend this machine!

DR Trimmer Mower

I hated trying to keep ahead of the weeds around my yard. Other hand held trimmers were too heavy, didn't have enough battery life or not long enough power cord to go everywhere I needed to go. I was looking for a solution when I received the ad with the walk behind trimmer mower in it, so thought I'd give it a try. I am so glad I did! The electric start, large wheels and various attachments make this machine extremely easy to use. And the string line lasts much longer than regular string line. I would recommend this machine to everyone!

It came out of the box ready to go (have some 30 SAE oil ready). I purchased the "quick-lock" trimmer head, and it's great. You simply slide the string in and "bam" you're done. The machine is well constructed, but it's light enough that my wife said... "I can use this." I turned the key and it immediately cranked. I'm very impressed. It's a keeper.

After soaking my string for the required 3 days, I loaded the DR and went to town. Sure made quick work of a lot of tall weeds. Easy starting and rolling on level ground and on some slopes. Wish I had the self propelled but husband thought it would not get under the fence as well with the beaver blade (which I have not received as yet) so I will just have to manually push. Love this machine.

This 3rd DR Trimmer we have purchased in 12 years, 2004, 2013, & 2016. First one had problems starting after a year or so, second is still here but has needed 3 replacement belts each summer for some unknown reason. Just received the last one, which appears may be the best one yet based on first round of using, it stated on first try and performed great. It is upgrade from first 2 and that may be the way to go if another is ever needed. Hope to get lots of years of use from it!

8.75 Pro-XL Electric Start Trimmer
Posted by: Daniel K. from Fairfield, CA on 08/29/2016

The Trimmer has been used 3 times and perform very well. I purchased the optional quick lock cutter head. It installed quickly and I'm glad I purchased it. The trimmer is easy to operate and makes trimming even tall grass fast and gives even cutting results. The electric starter produces a fast start. The only setup issue was removing the factory installed trimmer ball. The bolt was overly tight. But overall, I rate the 8.75 Pro-XL Trimmer a 5 star machine.

Out here we have "Cheat Grass" which grows fast and tall depending on moisture received and dies out when the weather gets hot, but remains as straw. A friend had a 100 Yd lane with this grass between the fence and road on a slope that is a little steep for a rider mower. It started out with 5 passes between the road and fence and ended with 2 passes. It took 3 hours with the DR Trimmer and probably 3 days with his hand held string trimmer. In places the grass laid over the motor & because of other weeds would twist around on the ground and then around the shaft. We would disengage the spinner, pull it back, engage the spinner & it would clear itself & then go back at it. This friend is now thinking of getting a DR Trimmer/Mower. Out here we have a sandier soil and the 16 inch wheels have rolled thru this ground very well. At home I went thru some larger weeds that my other string trimmer probably wouldn't handle and this trimmer went right thru them although I had to replace the strings after this, it cut all the weeds. I am very impressed with this trimmer and happy I purchased it.

Could be 5 stars because the Trimmer worked as well as expected. The problem is that even though I ordered the trimmer with many accessories at the same time it took 2 weeks to receive the entire order. It the items were not available or on backorder DR should have told me PRIOR to my placing the order. This includes the extra line, the beaver attachment as well as the quick snap and the maintenance kit.

I am very happy with my new trimmer/mower. Two years ago, I bought a trimmer/mower from a local hardware store & even though I haven't had any mechanical issue with it, I found it to be underpowered & extremely difficult to switch out the new cutting cord. I saw your ad for the 8.75 XL Pro trimmer/mower & decided to purchase it. I've used it a couple of times & I'm blown away by how powerful & how much better this machine takes down weeds & tall grass. It's by far the best I've ever used. When you buy the DR Trimmer/mower, also get the new trimmer head with the quick change feature to make it easier to replace the cord.

Great Purchase

My wife and I tried out the Trimmer this weekend on some land we recently acquired west of Fort Worth. Amazing. The land is heavily wooded and has received a lot of rain this spring so it is very overgrown; particularly around and under the trees. There is a type of vine that grows here which is covered in thorns and climbs into the tree branches to bloom and put on leaves. Unattended, these tough vines will take over and the tree will eventually die. I bought the trimmer and the heavy duty orange cutting cord with quick-connect specifically to attack this type of undergrowth. It worked wonderfully well. My wife did most of this work and could handle the machine without any problem. She also liked the electric start. We are so pleased that we were thinking of ordering a second trimmer/mower since we have a lot of acreage and trees to clean up. However, considering the fact that some of the understory are large cedar bushes and smaller trees/bushes we opted to purchase a beaver blade for the Trimmer and a Field and Brush Mower. The Trimmer will work great for much of the clean up and the Mower will be applied in instances where larger undergrowth (bushes and sapplings) is present. This combination should do the job perfectly. Very pleased with the purchase!

Have had my 8.26 Pro-XL, Electric-Starting for about a year now. Have used it a total of 80 hours so far with NO hickups. It eats through everything green I "throw" at it with ease and literally shreds it all to small pieces. I also have the DR® Quick-Lock™ Trimmer Head. Makes changing the strings very quick and easy. Although I have the electric start you won't need it, this machine starts first pull every time.

This is an awesome machine, can't believe I waited so long to buy it. I have been looking at the Dr Trimmer/Mower for a few years but the price always scared me off so I suffered through each year with a regular weed eater and my back paid the price. I have one acre of land with several raised beds, fruit trees, etc. so there is a lot of weed eating to be done. Since I have been using the Dr Trimmer I finish a lot sooner and have no back pain at all. GREAT Machine, well worth the price. The perple at DR are very helpful and know their product.

I bought this after watching a video on line at the DR Trimmer website which said the front tilted in so you could walk straight beside a building and trim the edge. Well I was told that was an old video and they no longer do that but that the cord is long enough to do that. If you are mowing down weeds in an open area this is a great trimmer but it does not work well to trim curbs or next to buildings the tire keeps rubbing the curb or building and stopping forward progress.

have an older model, an 8.25 with a Briggs & Stratton engine. Goes through weeds, reeds, and cattails like a knife through butter. I have some pretty rough terrain around a large pond, and this trimmer makes life much easier. Very reliable, as I've only had to replace two wheels due to worn bearings over the years. My only regret is that I didn't get the self-propelled model. Gets a lot of use, and I'm extremely happy with it.

I have been very pleased with this purchase. I am just to the point where I need to change the oil for the first time but I have only partially used the first section of trimmer line. There is more than enough power for the waist high grass that I am trimming and it lays the material down nicely rather than throwing it all over me as with hand held trimmers.

I purchased the 8.26 Pro-xl to cut small cedar trees in pastures. The concept is excellent, and the cutting ability is excellent. However the plastic wheels do not hold up in sloping rough ground. The hubs are not up to the task. This would be an ideal safe alternative to other products if the wheels were beefed up to handle rough terrain. Otherwise satisfactory.

Trimmer arrived on time and the axle was bent, but DR promptly sent a new one. I was surprised at the noise the trimmer line made, since I never used such big line before. The only gripe, if you can call it that, is that no oil was supplied and I had to call support to make absolutely sure what oil to go buy. The electric starter worked great. I will have to get used to the trimmer's power. I can't think of anything on my property that will slow it down.

Best Walk Behind Trimmer
Posted by: Hung from Fallbrook, CA on 05/04/2015
Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
This is the best walk behind trimmer that I would highly recommended. The electric start is the best feature saving you time and energy from pulling the cord so you can do more with the weed cutting. I also ordered the quick lock head kit which is fantastic for changing the cords in a minute. I also, got the trimmer guard which is very nice. I placed the order and got the machine within a week. I filled up the oil and gas and machine started nicely. However, I could not turn off the machine. I called and they guide me through the adjustment process which loosen a screw and tighten it back up and I am able to turn off the machine. The techician was very polite and pleasant to talk to. I tried out the machine half of the day last Saturday. The machine was very powerful, and I cut/trimmed a lot of more than 5 feet high weed without any problem. I hope the machine will run like this for a long time which I think it will. I also own a self propelled scout brush trimmer which need to be tune up ( I think because the machine doesn't self propel any more.) I ordered the new belts and new chain and hope this will make my scout machine back to work before. I love this DR Scout Trimmer as well. I used it for four years, but I guess I a little bit too old for this big machine. DR machine is the best you ever own, and I strongly recommended them.

The mower came together which was easy. I am the kind that reads all the directions first. They were very easy to understand. I then attached the strings. (very easy) Then put gas and oil in and turned the key and it started right up. It cuts so good. It does just want I wanted it to do. More than willing to do a review on this product as it is the best!

Careful when you check the oil
Posted by: ARTHUR H. from COINJOCK, NC on 11/03/2014
Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
Seems to be very high quality, although I do miss the all-aluminum base. I have never seen an engine that starts as quickly and easily,or that runs smoother than this Subaru. Other than the price,I have only two minor complaints. The first is that if you use the upgraded cutting head you need to be careful to not overfill the oil unless you put a block under the cutting head to level the base. I used a cheap dollar store magnetic torpedo level, and it worked great. I haven't ran it the full 5 hours yet,but when I do and drain the oil I will cut a wooden block to the correct height to put under it to level the base so I can accurately check and fill the oil from now on. The other complaint/suggestion is these trimmers need wider wheels that don't have such square edges. It wanted to sink in cutting around the marshy areas, and it was easier for me to go back to the handheld string trimmer to cut these areas that it was to push the DR. It did cut great in the slightly higher and drier areas, though. This may not be a problem with the standard cutter head they came with. I changed the heads before I put oil in the engine.

I bought the Quick-Lock Trimmer Head and well worth the money. If you buy this you don't need the cord caddy since this is for the 22 inch lengths cuts of string. Also bought the Trim-safe Tree Guard and that also is worth the extra money. The Electric start is great and if your battery needs to be charged you can use the pull cord to start the trimmer.

I had no idea when ordering that a secondary brake was a separate package and was to be installed by me... directions are not good and it takes a work table, mirror on a stick and working upside down to install... the rod which connects the brake to the idler pulley seems too long... had to take the machine to a DR dealer/repair to get it right... Should have been installed at factory. I clearly specified that this was to be used exclusively with beaver blade.... love the new engine, the controls, and sleeker front.. once the brake issue is resolved it will be a great machine.

Power trimmer bliss
Posted by: Mari-Jean A. from ANDOVER, VT on 08/04/2014
Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
There is so much I like about this trimmer. For one my husband has actually used it. He never did with a conventional trimmer. It is easy to push and glides nicely. It does not feel heavy. It gets really tough over grown areas done in no time. The Subaru engine runs real smooth and a lot quieter then what I was expecting. I've had other equipment with the Briggs and Stratton engine and I've always found them to be noisy and vibrate a lot and they always sound like they're getting ready to stall. So far I only have one problem with this trimmer. It is a little top heavy. When going along a side hill (that's all there is in Vermont) it tries to roll over. I have to really fight it to keep it from rolling. It is fabulous if you're on a flat or if you go up or down a hill. If it had a wider base then it might prevent the rolling. So over all I must say I love the trimmer so far. I can get more done in less time.

I was hesitant about getting this machine, because I wanted a self propelled trimmer. However upon reading the reviews on the self propelled trimmer,II knew that it would not work for me. I am a 65 year old female and would love to have purchased a self propelled trimmer, but you need to design it so that it will go forward and backward. Meanwhile I am enjoying the trimmer that I have purchased. Thank you DR Equipment.

Q.Why the poor ratings on the self propelled unit?
I would like to know in detail from other than sales person what if anything has changed in the unit from the units reviewed. I would like a self propelled but am afraid of having to return the unit after having used it. I am a seriously interested buyer and have uneven ground, some. Thanks ever so much I am looking for reliability as my local high end mower shop bad mouthed DR for not offering service if I brought It in. Regards Gerhard
A.Gerhard, Thank you for your inquiry. We had an issue with the belt guides, where the belts were slipping off due to the guide being too narrow. This issue has been resolved. We suspended the production line temporarily, accessed new, wider belt guides, and restarted the line. All previous customers were sent the new wider belt guide with instructions to install it at no cost. I hope this answers your questions.

Q.Why is the trimmer line snapping off on 8.75 trimmer mower
I have a 8.75 self-propelled timmer mower and I have tried 3 sets of trimmer line all installed per the mannual instructions and withing 30 seconds of the trimmer head spinning the line snaps off at the head. I have tried 2 different types of line including the blue line that came with the trimmer.
A.It sounds like your trimmer cord may have become dehydrated. This can cause it to become very brittle and brake easily. If you put some water in a bucket and let the cord soak for a day or two, this can often help the cord re-absorb moisture. If this does not seem to work or if you would like more information, please contact our Technical Support department toll free at 1-(888) 550-0062 Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 6:00pm Eastern and Saturday from 8:30am - 5:00pm. Q.Lubrication
Does this machine have an oil pump? Since it is advertised to operate on hill sides, the engine should have an oil pump versus splash lubrication.
A.All models of the DR Trimmer Mower have a splash lubrication system. With the Trimmer Mower you can safely trim and mow on slopes up to 20 degrees, which translates to a 36.4% slope. Continuous use on slopes steeper than 20 degrees may deprive the engine of adequate lubrication and damage components. Slopes greater than 20 degrees are also a major factor in loss of control and tip-over accidents. Because the Trimmer Mower is sometimes used on rough terrain, we always advise one to exercise caution and to mow across a slope, never up and down. Thanks for your inquiry.

Q.How does the battery charge
A.You should operate the Trimmer engine for at least 45 minutes to maintain proper battery charge. If the battery loses its charge, you will need to use a trickle charger to recharge it. The charger should have an output of 12 volts at no more than 2 amps. - at 1 amp, the battery may need charging for as long as 48 hours - at 2 amps, the battery may need charging for as long as 24 hours We sell a trickle charger (part # 12541) for DR Power Equipment.

Q.can the power wheels be disengaged when not needed?
A. Absolutely! If you release the wheel engage bar, the drive is disengaged for subtle maneuvering. Then just pull again on the bar to re-engage the drive. Our self-propelled trimmer is a great asset when you need to conquer trimming distances or grades up to 20 degrees. Thank you for your inquiry.

Q.What kind of drive train does the Self propelled string trimmer have?
A.Thank you for your inquiry. The transmission for the Self Propelled Trimmer uses a belt from the engine shaft to the sealed gearbox which converts the torque to the axle via chains and a large gear on both sides of the inside of the wheels. It is a very efficient system that can be "feathered" by slipping the bail bar (clutch) to accommodate speeds anywhere between 0-3.0 mph. I hope that this answers your question sufficiently. If you'd like to order the Trimmer, please call us at 800-376-9637 or simply place it in your shopping cart online.

I have a horse riding arena surrounded by four board wooden fence. I'm looking for a self propelled unit that will reac under the the lost rail with some clearance.
A.Thank you for your inquiry. The height of the nose guard (over the head) is 10" when the unit is resting on the mowball. This will allow it to fit under most fences. I hope that this answers your question. If you'd like to order a Fenceline Trimmer, please call us at 800-376-9637.

Q.Could Synthetic oil be used on this motor? Would it benefit from its use? And most important would it void the warranty on the product if synthetic oil is used?
A.Thank you for contacting us and your interest in the DR Trimmer/Mower.

You will need to use standard HD 30 weight motor oil during the first 5 hours of run time, we call that the break in period. After that, you can use the Synthetic motor oil. Synthetic oil is a great lubricant and can extend the motor life. It will not void the warranty.

We do have a tech team here if you have any further questions. They can be reached at 1-800-376-9637, option 2.

Q.My property has many horse/cow fences. I have to trim growth along those fences. Will I damage the fences or use a lot of string ?
A.The 8.26 Pro-XL, Self-Propelled Trimmer Mower has an offset frame design. This ensures that the cut reaches outside the wheel path to allow you to trim right up against foundations, fence lines and other obstacles. The amount of time the cords will last depends on the conditions. Constant use against sharp rocks or wire fence will wear the cords down faster. However, the DR cutting cord is heavier, split resistant and have a solid core which helps them to last longer. To prevent any potential damage to fencing, garden borders, wooden siding and to save the cord from wearing out or breaking, we offer the TrimSafe Guard. With the Guard mounted on the Trimmer, the tips of a full length cord are inset 1" from the outer bar. This will prevent any accidental damage to fences, siding, etc. The TrimSafe Guard can be viewed at the following web link: http://www.drpower.com/shop.axd/Search?keywords=trimsafe+guard If you have more questions or would like to place an order by phone, please call our Sales Team at toll free 1-888-550-0062 and our Sales Representatives will be happy to help you. A.As the engine on this machine is a 4 cycle engine, it has separate oil and fuel reservoirs. Upon assembly you will want to ensure that you add fuel and the accurate amount of oil to the engine since it will not ship with fuel or oil in it. Ensure that you use only 30 weight, high detergent oil. Q.We have a home at 9000 elevation in Colorado and have a lot of rocks on it. On the self propelled Pro-XL, can you slow it down for hilly terrain and rocks, and are the reconditioned units just as good as new ones?
A.Our Self-Propelled Trimmer/Mower features a variable speed drive. By feathering the lever you can choose at which pace you mow. This is a very convenient feature which allows you to adjust your speed to match mowing conditions. Our reconditioned equipment is returned within it's trial period. It is checked over and tested by our mechanics and re-sold in a like new condition. It features all of the same warranties, promotions and benefits as a new piece of equipment. To check up to date pricing and inventory please contact a Sales Rep at 1-800-376-9637. Thank you for your interest. FC

Q.It has electric start and you sell extra batteries. Does the machine also require gasoline?
A.The electric and manual options on the Trimmer/Mowers refer to how the machine is turned on. All models still require gas and oil to run. The self-propelled model is only available with the electric start option. Thank you for your interest in the Trimmer/Mower.

Q.Does the 8.75 Pro-XL model "shift" to the side, to offset the cutting pattern to one side, to cut outside the path of the wheels? Can I cut along a wall or a fence without having to swerve the head to the left every half-step along the way? How many inches outside the wheel path does it cut, when in the offset position?
A.Thank you for your interest in the DR Walk Behind Trimmer. This unit has an asymmetrical frame. The nose centered asymmetrically off the frame so the cords will stick outside of the wheelbase 2.5” on the left hand side. The Walk-behind Trimmer is designed so it can trim up close to fence lines, houses, and any other area where close trimming is important. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
