Overview

Make Your Driveway Like New!

With just a few simple turns of this model's EZ-Dial adjustor, you can fine-tune the grading depth without leaving your driver's seat. And by eliminating the battery and powered actuator (found on our larger models), we've come up with a new compact design that takes up less than half the floorspace of our larger graders.

But make no mistake, this new design still provides all the benefits of DR Power Grading -- loosening material with its carbide scarifying teeth and leveling this material with its scraper blade to eliminate potholes and washboard on any unpaved driveway.

Product Summary:

  • 48" Width
  • 12 Scarifying Carbide Teeth
  • E-Z Dial, manual depth control
  • Reversible Grading board with toothed or flat edge
  • Recommended towing vehicles: Lawn/garden tractor (minimum of 14 HP and/or 400 lbs.), Utility Tractor, ATV.

Features
EZ-Dial on a DR driveway grader
EZ-Dial

A simple hand crank allows you to adjust your grading depth right from the driver’s seat. Dial it down to grade aggressively, or dial it up to create ground clearance (for transporting or turning around between grading passes).

DR driveway grader
Adjustable Control

The EZ-Dial stanchion can be positioned to accommodate different tow vehicles and the comfort of the operator.

Carbide-tipped scarifying teeth on a DR driveway grader
Carbide-Tipped Scarifying Teeth

The scarifying teeth cut into the road surface, to loosen materials for redistribution. These teeth are extremely durable—the same material is used on well drilling bits and excavating equipment—but can easily be replaced.

Universal dual hitch on a DR driveway grader
Dual Hitch

The EZ-Dial Power Grader includes both a ball hitch (shown) and pin hitch so you can easily hook it up to a wide variety of mowers, ATVs or UTVs.

Leveling Blade on a DR driveway grader
Reversible Rear Leveling Blade

Use the flat edge (A) to smooth out graded materials. Use the toothed edge (B) when you want to “fluff” the top material (for example, in a horse arena).

Weight Rack on a DR driveway grader
Built-In Weight Rack

For more aggressive excavating action, the top of the frame is designed to seat a pair of standard cinder blocks.

My driveway was full of rain gutters and was very bumpy. I did not expect the new DR power grader to work so well but it did and after 40 minutes my whole drive was flat, groomed and looked like a pro blade had been here. I'm very happy and some of my neighbors stopped by and were amazed at my finished product.

I love this smaller version of this grader. It seem like it has been built better with stronger and heaver material very handy to use. jus had trouble with the crank as I lost the stop at the bottom of it . But I would not trade it for the big one after using both of them. Works better in smaller area's . LOVE IT.

I have a gravel driveway on a hill so it was impossible to keep in shape. I had a homemade smoother made from a cattle panel and 3 cedar logs. The Power Grader is much nicer! I hooked mine to a drawbar and let the hydraulic arms raise and lower the unit - a process I highly recommend. The instruction manual needs some better pictures, but other than that, it was a good purchase. It works the best on small diameter rock such as 1 inch or less. And it needs the concrete block weight to help it dig.

The grader works as designed even though my driveway has forty years of compacted limestone and additional weight was not reqired. My only complaint was that the person who took my order said assembly would take 60 to 90 minutes. That estimate must have been for your best in house technician. It took me more than 6 hours.

48 EZ Dial made our drive look better than it ever has. No complaints about quality or performance. This is my 2nd DR product and for me, the assembly instructions could be better. Some pics are very dark and some instructions hard to follow. This may not be a problem if you have better skills. If you are not young and flexible, be aware that raising the grader with the EZ Dial from your ATV seat is NOT easy. It is a good way to damage your rotator cuff. I wanted to exchange my grader for a power grader but missed the time limitations.

Pwr Grade for the power grader
Posted by: Greg C. from New Canaan, CT on 05/07/2018
Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
Problem: Gravel driveway developing holes and ruts along high traffic areas. Was thinking about paving the driveway to cover what has become work. We like the stones aesthetically so was researching how to maintain a gravel driveway and came across the DR power grader. This is a great addition to my yard tool collection. Very solid construction did have to re-align holes slightly with a few hard hits on ground and easy to adjust height. I switched the back scraper to rake in order to let stones move more freely as I would occasionally get bogged down with too many stones dragging behind. Overall - I expect to use this grader a couple times per year in the maintenance of driveway. Perhaps on same weekend when doing yard aeration with different tow behind device.

I got an amazing deal on the grader. The unit arrived earlier than expected free shipping. The instructions are very detailed and you must follow every step. Keep attention to the nuances and you won’t have any problems with the assembly. The grader works amazingly well. I started at about a medium setting, dropped it all the way down without the need of concrete blocks and ran a few final passes at 2/3 down. My gravel driveway looks better than ever. I changed my mind on spending a yearly salary on a concrete driveway. I’m just very happy with it. It complements my Kubota tractor perfectly btw. My advise: if you have an embarrassing driveway, this little machine is a must have. Buy it. I AM NEITHER BEING COMPENSATED NOR HAVE ANY AFFILIATION WITH DR POWER. I wish it did. Happy grading. Paul.

I used my power grader fro the first time today and am very pleased with how it works. There was one problem. The bras bushing and the lock collar on the bottom of the adjusted control fell off. I found both parts and reattached them. I presume the collar was not tightened sufficiently. I talked to Kaitlyn in your service department to make sure I put them on in the correct order. She was very helpful. I think the grader is going to serve my needs very well.

Road Grader

Rating: Product Review Stars: 4.00 star rating
Does need additional weight to keep from topping out on the larger gravel on our farm drive and roadway up to outbuildings. With the additional weight the dial is a little hard to move and raise the wheels to just transport. I do believe the grader would work better on smaller gravel type surface rather than the crushed gravel used on the driveway surfaces here in Missouri. Did work to level our drive but had to make several passes because of the size of the gravel used on the drive surface.

The biggest issue to date was packaging and shipment. The unit arrived with the box damaged, but the contents looked pretty good. When assembling, I found the sheet metal frame bent at the front edges. I straightened both ends. When using, I noticed the axle began to flex and is deformed, but still functional. It does work as advertised.

DR Power Grader w/EZ Dial adjuster

I reviewed other comments before choosing this model, and most of the comments are helpful for making a decision on what to purchase. First of all, the assembly time will take roughly 3 hours, depending on your aptitude and work space. The directions included are not all that bad, even though others have struggled a bit with a lack of detailed instructions see: aptitude. Once assembled, the grader works as advertised. Depending upon the material you are grading plant mix, gravel, soil, you will need to adjust your speed accordingly. If you take your time, this will do an excellent job. The grader components are certainly solid enough for most homeowner/residential use. If you let your 14-year old go wild at full throttle, expect the equally questionable results!! Used reasonably, you will be very satisfied with this implement. The additional weight of two cinder blocks is sufficient for most jobs. The weight of the grader itself will work, but adding the extra weight affords better scarifying action with fewer passes. Be sure to tie down the blocks, or you will be chasing them as they hop off the grader! All in all, well worth the investment!!

Received the DRpower grader and assembled the unit. Assembly was a little challenging.iwe got everything in good working order within a couple of hours. Went to work on my driveway right away. Took several passes and added a couple of cinder blocks for weight.being a novice, the learning curve of how to use the DRpower grader was quick. I was sckeptical if the product would meet expectations due to the fact that our road had not been graded for over a decade. Wow, the DRpower grader lived up to its claims. We were able to grade our road in one afternoon. DRPower grader did an excellent job and the product meet a Vigorous challenge. I highly recommend this product. Very happy with the results.

I have a 1750 foot long driveway that catches all of the rain from the surrounding area as kind of a drain. I needed something for smoothing things out after a big rain. This scraper works as advertised. It takes 3 passes to do the one lane, but it breaks up my compacted old gravel and evens things out eventually. 2 hours for one person to assemble. I am happy with my purchase so far. 1 month of ownership and 20 hours of use.

My DR Power Grader arrived in a tore up box on both ends. I thought parts would be missing or damaged but all was there. It took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble. Check allen screws on both sides of the EZ dial, mine were loose on collars. The Test. I have a small Kubota Tractor to pull the DR Power Grader with. My drive way is about a 1/4 mile up hill and this thing did great. It removed the wash board from the UPS trucks delivering Amazon every other day. My Wife loves it! It pulled up lots of gravel I have hauled in to fix my driveway in the past. Last year I paid a guy 800 to grade and my DR Grader fixes it in about 6 passes or 1 hour. The ripping carbide teeth tear through the wash board and the back blade carries the gravel to fill low spots. I have not added any weight to it and it seems like you don't need any extra weight. I had my doubts but it works great. Thanks DR. Bryan-Aztec New Mexico.

Simple to assemble, straight forward operation. Aside from a small problem with the EZ-Dial assembly, which DR corrected by sending me an entire new EZ-Dial control assembly. I have a .1 mile long driveway and the grader did a great job in turning over the stone in the driveway, filling potholes and leveling surface. I highly recommend the product as an affordable solution for gravel driveways.

I received it on Thursday put it together on Saturday in about an hour and two hours later had my driveway looking great. My driveway is limestone and had a center hump that caused my car to drag and it removed the hump and leveled the drive to perfection I still need some fresh limestone but not near as much as I thought I would need and I did all this with my 24 horsepower cub cadet lawn tractor. I was surprised with the quality of the power grader and I expect it to last a very long time.

Like some, I was hesitant when hearing about the Power Grader. Looked at the Power Grader for a couple of years. Watched the videos and finally decided to purchase the Grader. I've got a crush and run, 100 yards long, driveway that had developed potholes over the last few years. My neighbor used a box blade but it dug too much of the driveway up. The Power Grader worked great and did exactly what it was designed to do. I plan to use it a couple of times a year to keep my driveway looking great and the potholes away. It saved me from saved me from having to put new rock down

EZ POWER GRADER

Fantastic. Used it to smooth about 1/4 mile of driveway. Constituted of "crushand run" as it is called in Georgia. Used my Kawasaki Mule on the first try. Worked OK, but I had to stop at the end of the road each trip and raise the grading teeth. I used my Skag Tiger Cat mower today with the pin hitch, and it was much quicker and much easier. Mower is about 40 HP. I tied 2 concrete blocks on the machine with heavy duty zip ties. I used 8 of them 4 on each block joined in pairs. They are staying put. I had to make a couple of calls for Tech help during assembly, and they were great. Looking for another piece of DR equipment to justify buying. I love my 16.5 chipper.

Upon delivery the box was damaged as was the grader frame. I was able to straighten the frame but the bags containing the bolts, washers and nuts inside had been ripped open and they were all lose indie the box with parts missing as I later found out during assembly. The directions could have been better. I have had excellent responses from the company in replacement of the parts thus far so I am pleased about that.

Works okay, but parts not tough enough
Posted by: Kevin L. from Auburn, MI on 10/17/2017
Rating: Product Review Stars: 3.00 star rating
I have a 1/4 mile long gravel road. If I use it a few days after a rainstorm, then I can move gravel with just the grader setting. If the surface is hard, then I make many passes with the teeth to rip up some gravel, then follow up with the grader. I can fill in potholes by pulling a load of gravel to the hole, then cranking up the handle to deposit the load. It's this last task that highlights the weakness of the machine. When weighted with 80 pounds (I use bird seed bags wrapped in a tarp and strapped on), it's difficult to crank up the wheels. It puts so much pressure on the axle assembly that the bracket where the cable attaches has bent badly. The hitch assembly also doesn't handle the stress well--it has bent too. The most recent issue with the machine is that the axle assembly actually broke at one of the welds where the vertical black bracket attaches to the axle piece. So, I'm happy with the grading results, but not happy with the durability of the machine. The metal parts are too weak if they bend and break during normal use.

My 360' driveway was a mess with potholes and big center crown that wouldn't go away until I bought this unit. A dozen passes later and all is well. It looks well groomed now and I didn't raise a sweat doing it! I own a DR wood splitter and a DR Power Wagon, so the grader is my 3rd DR item and they are all top notch products.

Assembly is a pain
Posted by: Harry from Kankakee, IL on 07/31/2017
Rating: Product Review Stars: 4.00 star rating
I would have gladly paid to have this assembled. The holes for the bracket that holds the bricks in place didn't want to line up. Had to loosen a few other bolts in order to get them to line up and then still had to pound them into place. The instructions for this are awful. I wish they had an assembly video. The pictures lack detail so sometimes it was hard to figure out what they were referring to. It would have been nice if the bolts where in separate bags by size. The wheels didn't want to go on, I had to lube the axle then use a rubber mallet to get them to go all the way on. Hope I never have to take them off. I spent about 5 hours putting this thing together. When I got done I really couldn't see what took so long. It just doesn't look hard to do. The good news is that when I went to use it I could see that it will fix up my ragged gravel lot. It will take some time but after about 45min I could already see a difference. My lot is in really rough shape but with this and a little gravel I should be in good shape. Just wish it hadn't been such a pain to assemble.

Poorly Manufacture

I read the reviews for this product on how difficult it was to assemble and how poorly the hardware was machined but i thought how hard could it really be. It took three hours to assemble and some of the assembly hardware is missing. I now have to go buy the rest of the bolts required to finish assembly. Once that is done I will be able to try the product.

Power Grader

First off I would like to say that once you get this thing together and on the job it does an outstanding job or taking care of the most packed driveways. As for assembly, this thing could be a lot easier to say the least. Right off the start you will notice that the holes do not align for the weight straps. I called customer service for assistance and they were very helpful except it just wasn't going to go together the way they stated. I was directed to take it to 2 different service centers and both said after a couple hours that they weren't getting it either. Determined to no have to send this back I had to completely disassemble the whole main frame to be able to get things aligned. No one should have to disassemble something to assemble it. Especially for 2 bars that could already be attached before shipping. The rest of the assembly wasn't bad but the instructions are written very poorly but the pictures help a little. You do have to pay attention while cranking it up and down, the handle can become detached and it will also lock the system. One notable design flaw and this is poorly thought out is the pin that holds the cable for raising and lowering the axle ALWAYS comes out. It is an easy fix, I just went to the hardware store and got a bolt with a locking nut to keep it secure. As for operation, this thing really is a beast. I have 800 feet of hard packed road with plenty of deep potholes that it took care of. Don't expect completion in one or two passes but keep at it and eventually it will have everything smooth again. Now I am hoping that just a couple passes every month and it will keep my driveway be all that it takes.

Initial Report: Disappointed and Frustrated So Far
Posted by: John-Mark H. from Versailles, KY on 01/31/2017
Rating: Product Review Stars: 1.00 star rating
I had high hopes for the DR Power Grader. My optimism is dampened by my early experience. After spending 3 1/2 hours assembling the EZ Dial model, I was anxious to use it on my 1/10 of a mile gravel driveway. I could assemble it much faster a second time around, but thank goodness I won't be doing that. The assembly was 100% successful, but tedious, to be kind. I read and followed completely all instructions in the supplied documents. My first use was delayed until today by weather that has left my potholes full of water. Once they dried out, I gave my new Power Grader a test run. First lesson: don't even bother using the tool without the extra weight offered by two cement blocks. On the lowest position, it took six passes before showing any surface disturbance on a pretty densely packed driveway without the extra weight. Don't waste your time hoping that the grader will do you any good without the extra weight. Second lesson, familiarize yourself thoroughly with the correct direction to turn the height adjustment handle to either raise and lower the grader. Turn the handle very slowly to monitor which direction (up or down) you're headed until you determine and remember which handle turning direction generates the desired result. Otherwise, you could end up with a lost spacer and circular clamp that must be tightened by an ill-fitting Allen wrench. (The Allen wrench receptacles on one of my clamps were not machined accurately and my Allen wrenches do not fit well as a result.) I had stopped just after dusk this evening, mistakenly turned the handle a couple of turns the wrong direction, and my spacer and circular clamp were off the unit in an instant. The grader is now useless to me until I replace those two poorly designed parts. This tool is quite unforgiving of imperfect execution, and the consequences can be lost parts that disable your tool if you're using it late in the day. Just know that going in. I realize that DR will respond to my review with some ationalization of my report, based on my observations of other reviews posted on their site. It's likely to add to my frustration. All that said, I will try the unit again with the added weight once I get the parts I need. If my experience is better, then I will submit an undated review. In the meantime, count me among the dissatisfied and frustrated purchasers of what seems in my early experience to be a well-intended but inadequately designed and unforgiving tool.
Response from DR SupportThank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your disappointment and frustration with the unit. We are sorry that you are experiencing this. After reviewing your file, I see you have already been in touch with our Technical Support Department and your replacement parts have been ordered free of charge. Those should be to you shortly. We hope the unit meets your expectations and you are satisfied after using it again. Please let us know if you experience any further issues. Exceeds Expectations... Great Investment

I purchased the DR Power Grader 48” EZ Dial hoping it would save me time and money on maintaining my ½ mile long crushed concrete private road. It has definitely proven it will do both. It’s not uncommon to spend $1,000 - $2,000 in a given year for new material plus another $500 for equipment rental and/or labor for someone to spread the material and grade the road. I pulled the DR Power Grader with my 42” Craftsman LTS-1500 (500 lbs. with 17.5HP engine). The road was in pretty bad shape so it took me 6 passes to get the road smoothed out, but it did it (12’ wide private road @ ½ mile length… 6 passes x 3 trips per pass = 9 miles of scarifying / grading). The first 4 passes were in the scarifying position and all of the way down with 70 lbs. added to the grader. The first pass didn’t appear to do much, but each subsequent pass yielded significant improvement. The last 2 passes were in the grading position with the 70 lbs. still on the grader. The LTS-1500 has a manual transmission so I was able to easily maintain ~2 mph during all 6 passes. The instruction manual says a maximum of 5 mph when scarifying and/or grading, and this may be possible with small material on the last couple of passes, but from my experience slower is better in regards to results and preventing bouncing and damage to the grader or shear pin. I did the entire 6 passes with the same shear pin (never broke and looked fine even after I was finished). I’m expecting future maintenance to require less passes now that the road has been smoothed out and assuming I re-grade before it gets as bad as it was this time (primarily weather dependent). The grader of course now has some scratches and rub marks (rub marks from the weights wiggling during operation), but it held up better than I expected. All 12 scarifying teeth look great as does the grading blade. Instead of spending $1,500 - 2,500 this year, I spent $800 and about a day of my time. Well worth it! I recommend this to anyone with a lengthy composite driveway / road. Very impressed!

Awsome piece of Equipment

This piece of equipment is awesome. It does a great job and does just as the demonstration in the video shows. I have struggled over keeping my gravel drive in shape for years renting expensive equipment and buying gravel over the years which was very expensive. My drive is 4 tenths of a mile long and was packed as hard as cement, it took several passes to break it up but once it broke through the hardness it did an awesome job. it looks like I had a load of gravel dumped on my road. I used a 21hp craftsman lawn tractor which did the job even with a slight slope in places. I'm very pleased.

Very Impressed

I've been hesitant for awhile to buy a grader. Partially due to cost and part skepticism. Also concerned my John Deere LT180 would have a problem going up the inclines on our driveway. I finally decided to get this one since it a few hundred dollars cheaper than the automatic one. I am very impressed! Our driveway is about 300 feet long and is not flat most of the way. Even without additional weight it worked well. The hand crank gets a little tiring. (It would be kind of nice if an option was offered to modify to an electric motor system.) I had long ruts but was able to successfully fill in very evenly. One improvement I would mention. When backing up, the wheels will pivot and stop on the back side of the grader not allowing the wheels to turn. A block or stop mounted on back of grader allowing the wheel bracket to hit before the wheels do would prevent this.

Unbelievable Results - Five Star!
Posted by: Donald C. from Hastings, NE on 03/02/2016
Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
I recently received the 48” Power Grader with EZ-Dial. The assembly was a little challenging (two people for lifting parts helps) as it took over 2 ½ hours, but the instructions were detailed and all hardware and parts were included so no surprises. The biggest issue was the initial step after unpacking of getting the cross arm tie bars aligned with the holes in the frame, but with a little “coaxing” and prying we got things lined up. I’m sure the assembly would go much smoother and quicker now that we’ve been through it once. As far as results, UNBELIEVABLE! I definitely give the DR Power Grader EZ-Dial five stars! I have a 900’+ crushed concrete/white rock drive with a fly ash base. My driveway is about 10 years old and I’d never had major problems with it prior that adding a load of rock wouldn’t fix, but this winter we had a lot of moisture, thawing and refreezing and it got very soft at times. Vehicle traffic on it resulted in major ruts so the driveway was a disaster. I anticipated I’d need to get a tractor with blade in and several loads of rock to get it back in shape but then I saw the advertisement for the DR power grader and requested the free literature/DVD. Originally I had planned to get the power grader with battery powered lift, but prior to my ordering the new EZ-Dial model was posted on the website. The only negative comments I had seen in the customer reviews for the battery powered grader had to do with battery problems/electrical connections, etc., so I opted to give the EZ-Dial model a try, plus it was about $500 less expensive. :) I was a little concerned about the difference in weight as the EZ-Dial model is about 50 lbs lighter than the battery powered model, but the EZ-Dial is designed to allow adding concrete blocks if more weight is necessary. And since the EZ-Dial shipping weight is lighter, it meets UPS weight restrictions so was delivered directly to my door at no extra cost. The other concern I had with the EZ-Dial was there was only one review posted at the time I ordered, and it was during product testing so the product hadn’t been thoroughly vetted by actual customers. I spent about three (3) hours on my driveway with the EZ-Dial using an ATV as a power source. No new rock was added and no extra weight was added to the EZ-Dial. Results were amazing, it literally looks like a new driveway. When I figure what it would have cost me to get a tractor and blade in and a couple loads of new rock the EZ-Dial more than paid for itself in the initial use. Plus I now have the EZ-Dial available to do touch up work whenever necessary so I’m assured of a “groomed” driveway in the future. You can definitely mark me down as a very satisfied customer and I thank you for a quality product that will make my life much easier! PS..I took "before" and "after" photos but cannot attach to this review. People I show them to don't believe it initially but I can vouch they are accurate. Great machine that truly works in a small package!
Response from DR SupportThank you for your thoughtful and very detailed review. We love to hear back from our customers and your experiences are what really validate the product for future customers. We appreciate that you chose DR and thank you for your business!

Easy to use and efficient grading

Rating: Product Review Stars: 5.00 star rating
We were impressed with this machine's performance during product testing. The simplicity of it is a big plus - once the initial setup is done for the tow vehicle and conditions, it only takes a few cranks on the handle to lift or drop. It's easy to use and very durable. We found it worked well grading and filling in pot holes. The only time it didn't work as well was on one long, rolling bump because it's short so it followed the contours. It also worked well in the indoor horse arena I tested it in. It smoothed out the punched up areas and fluffed up the compacted footing. After watching me for a few minutes, the owner of the stable wanted to sell all her various implements to get this power grader because it would do all the things that she had to use several pieces of equipment to do.

Q.my driveway is pretty hard will it loosen the material and will it act as a cultivator removing weeds?
A.The DR Power Grader's carbide-tipped scarifying teeth are capable of loosening dirt, crushed limestone, bluestone gravel, sand, cinders and crushed shells. It will not grade crushed or recycled asphalt, nor will it grade areas covered with thick vegetation, as it will clog the scarifying teeth. After hours of testing rock-hard driveways, the Power Grader was able to loosen and redistribute the material with no appreciable wear on the teeth. With surfaces that are extremely compact, it may take more passes to break it up.

Q.Can a produce a crowned driveway or only flat? I want to place a slight crown on my driveway. Is the leveler blade adjustable to do this?
A.Unfortunately the leveling blade is not adjustable and the Power Grader is not capable of creating a crown. However once there is a crown, it can maintain it.

Q.How do I determine if this grader is larger enough or if I need the 60 in grader?
A.The 48" Power Grader is for customers that have narrow grading needs. It is ideal for customers who need to maintain a crown that can't grade down the middle, thus needing the narrower model. The 60" Power Grader is for larger grading needs such as long drives, parking areas, etc. If maintaining a crown is not an issue, or the driveway is wide enough so the 60" isn't grading in the middle, where it is diminishing the crown, this is an ideal choice.

Q.hi, can this be pulled by a zero turn or pick up truck? Also do you have a local dealer where i can see this?
A.Of the vehicles we've tested, utility tractors and four wheel drive ATVs perform best for towing the Power Grader. Lawn tractors, including zero turn models, also work very well. Towing requirements when using a lawn tractor are: - 48" Model: must have a tractor with 14 HP or greater, weighing 400 lbs or more. - 60" Model: must have a tractor with 19 HP or greater, weighing 500 lbs or more. The Power Grader cannot be used with a Truck (2WD or 4WD) or SUV. Towing the Power Grader with one of these vehicles wouldn't give you the results you would be expecting. It is best being able to see the gravel/dirt when you are grading so you can adjust the teeth accordingly. Trucks are wider then the Grader which means you will not be able to get along the edges. Also, use of a truck will void the Power Grader warranty. To locate a DR Dealer in your area, please click on the following web link: http://www.drpower.com/shop.axd/StoreLocator Be advised that Dealers are independent retailers and may or may not offer the same pricing and Hands-On Trial Period as a factory direct order. We also recommend calling in advance of a visit to check on which products they currently have in stock. Thanks for your interest in the DR Power Grader.

Q.We recently had severe flooding in Colorado. Our long driveway now has gullies and washouts in many areas. Some a up to 2ft deep! And the driveway is not on flat land either. One section has a 10% grade. I want to know how this product will perform on this type of drive way. In the past we have hired a contractor to bring in recycled asphalt and re-grade it using a Kubota type small farm tractor with a blade or by towing a steel beam. The price the road contractor quoted now is more than the cost of the DR Power Grader. I figure I can do this myself. I don't have an 4 wheeler ATV but I do have a powerful lawn tractor. How do you think the DR Power Grader will perform?
A.There are a couple other things to consider, the recycled asphalt, it needs to be loose enough to put a shovel into, the power grader will not loosen hardened asphalt. Now as far as your tractors abitity to tow it, the 10% grade may challenge a lawn tractor, depending on its weight and types of tires it has on it. Please contact us if you have any question's.

Q.Your video mentions that Power Grader 48 can be used for grass seeding; but does not show it and I can not find any exact information on how it helps in grass seeding. For instance, the Power Grader 48 acts like an aerator to strike (but not take out cores) the soil for sewing seed and STILL NOT destroy the existing lawn's grass.
A.The DR Power Grader is designed to level fresh soil only and prepare for seeding. It will not aerate the lawn and will not work on property that already has grass growing on it. Please contact us if you have other questions.

Q.The sides of my driveway has a very slight amount of crab grass encroaching onto the driveway. Will this grader give a sharp edge to the driveway?
A.The Power Grader will pull up lightly rooted grass on the edge of your driveway with no problem. It will also pull out anything that is growing in the middle of the drive. However, if the grass is too heavily rooted, it may cause the Power Grader to snag and pull on the shear bolt. That doesn't sound like it will be a problem in your case!

Q.How does it work with rocks? How big is too big and possibly cause damage to the grader?
A.Our Power Grader works great with rocks. The unit will have a specially designed shear bolt that will absorb the shock by breaking if you hit a large rock, ledge, or other large obstruction. The EZ-Dial model has a ½” x 2 ¾” unique 2 channel shear pin. Every driveway has different compositions and the shear bolt (pin) acts as the breaking point if you hit something substantial. Rather than ruining your Power Grader frame or towing vehicle, the shear bolt will shear saving you time and potentially a lot of money in damages. The EZ-Dial model has one set of 12 teeth that are long wearing ½” thick, 4142 hardened steel, 90/10 tungsten/carbide steel. The teeth are spaced 3 1/2" apart.

Q.It seems that the only comments had to with cleaning up driveways. I need that too, but I also just need to level and smooth my yard. Is this a good tool for that?
A.Thank you for your interest in the Power Grader. This unit is not designed to be used in on a lawn. The Power Grader has a shear bolt in the tongue that is designed to break when there is a large amount of resistance placed on the machine. By breaking, the Power Grader and the towing vehicle are protected from damage. If you are using this in a grassy area, it will snag and the shear bolt will break.

Q.My horse arena has clumps of grass that are growing in it. Will this grader be able to dig up and remove these clumps? Also, in my pasture I have areas that have been washed out. Would this grader work in those areas even though they are surrounded by grass? Thank you?
A.Hello Teresa, The Power Grader has long wearing ½” thick, 4142 hardened steel, 90/10 tungsten/carbide steel tipped teeth. They will have no problem loosening the dirt in the washed out pasture and horse arena. If the grass is rooted or well established, the power grader will not be ideal to dig and remove the clumps. The Power Grader has a built in safety feature, the shear bolts, that are especially designed to absorb the shock by breaking if you hit a large rock, ledge, or other large obstruction, including the rooted grass.
