Overview

All Power Graders* come standard with this convenient remote control for raising and lowering the scarifying teeth. But if you own an older model Power Grader, you can add the remote control and save yourself the trouble of getting on and off your riding vehicle every time you make an adjustment.

For these older machines, the Remote Control replaces your machines wired control box. Just install the Remote Control receiver on the powered actuator. All you need is a drill and a screwdriver. Easy-to-follow instructions and lanyard are included.

*Compatible with Power Graders Serial #'s PG11320 through PG42617.

Q.Can I replace the existing power remote feature with this retrofit kit?
I own a Power Grader (several years old) but the fuse for the remote apparently drew moisture, rusted, and blew the fuse. The rusted fuse broke off when I tried replacing it. I then cut the wire and installed what I thought was a better fuse capsule that would be easier to open/close to check and replace the fuse. Now it doesn't lift up and down at all as if the remote can't find the receiver on the unit. Thus, the grader is just sitting behind my shed hiding in the weeds since last season. I'm open to any suggestions to try to resurrect this machine so I can scrape my drive once again.
A.This retrofit assembly is an upgrade kit for machines that have the corded control assembly. We do have a replacement transmitter and receiver for machines that already have this assembly but unfortunately it is not currently available on our website. You may not need to replace the remote in order to get your machine working again. The best way to diagnose what is causing an issue with one of our Power Graders is with a test light. A test light can be purchased at most any local hardware store or electrical shop for usually about $5 - $10. If your machine already has the cordless remote assembly, you may just need to re-synchronize the remote and receiver. To do this, ensure all wiring is properly connected with a good battery. Hold down one of the buttons on the remote and continue holding. Disconnect the positive wire from the battery (if yours is bolted on, it may be easier to pull apart the fuse connector or 4-pin connector instead of disconnecting the positive from the battery). Wait about 10 seconds then reconnect power. If you are still holding a remote button and the circuit is good, your actuator should start moving. For assistance in using a test light to diagnose an issue with your DR Power Grader, please contact our Technical Support department toll free at 1-(888) 550-0062 Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 6:00pm Eastern and Saturday from 8:30am - 5:00pm. We will be happy to assist you and look forward to hearing from you.

Q.I bought a grader that has a 3V battery in the remote, but the book calls for a 12V. Is the 12V 27A battery correct?
A.The book is wrong. Sorry about that! The correct Remote Battery is a CR2032 3 volt.

Q.What function does the unmarker triangle shaped button beneath the "Down Button" perform?
The Owners manual for the DR Grader shows a two button remote control. "Up & Down" only. The remote I have and the one in your online picture has three buttons, but I can't find what the third button is supposed to perform.
A.The 3rd Triangle Button has no function on our Powergrader. It is used in other applications by other manufacturers.

Q.All I see is a remote. Is acutator as I called it replaced on the grader
I have an older grader that has the cable for lowering and raising How is it converted to remote?
A.If your Actuator is still working, then the Remote Kit is all you need. It will include a Pigtail Connector, Harness, Receiver & Transmitter. If your Actuator is not working, you will need an Actuator (23097) & the Remote Kit (22954). If your Actuator has the Round Motor facing up, you will need a Battery Box (28987 ), Actuator (23097) & Remote Kit (22954).
