Old Guys rule

I had a gas unit, but the older I get the harder it is to pull start it. So I decided to go electric. This thing is pretty expensive, especially the batteries at over n100.00 each. It does work well, so I guess the extreme high price was worth it.

Self-propelled electric mower.

I'm very pleased with the mower's performance. I'm learning how to use it, and have only one problem. The cover over the battery compartment is difficult to hold open while putting the battery in place. Otherwise, it helps make my mowing on my hilly yard much easier!

good to have a second battery for long cuts
Posted by: Harold P. from GIG HARBOR, WA on 06/22/2019

Bought the second battery as what I normally cut takes longer then 40 minutes rated length of use time and am happy to say that I got about that much time per charge. Have to say that the directions that come with battery states that the charging indicator light stops blinking and stays on when fully charged but nothing about a fan coming on. I noticed that the fan turns off and the light continues to blink for a while when close to finish charging and then goes solid. Otherwise it does the job.

Wow, this 62 volt battery is a lot lighter than the previous 36 volt battery I used on my old DR 21 mower. It charges faster and supplies more power.

This battery gives me longer run time with my mower than the advertising indicates, which is a very pleasant surprise.

So far it is working as advertised. It lasts about 40 min. And recharges in 90 min. Now we wait to see how long it lasts which is the real test of a battery. If it lasts it will be worthy of the 5 star rating. Because they are expensive.

A little under powered from what I expected. The line broke sooner than expected and the extra line that I ordered was back ordered.

Have two of these batteries to support mower, weed-eater and blower. One battery refused to take a charge after two cycles. DR replaced it with a phone cal however, technical service representative at DR said batteries need to cool down for 2 hours after discharge before recharging. Owner's manual says recharge immediately after discharge. I am recharging immediately right after a discharge, so we'll see.

Great battery

This battery is much lighter and contains a on battery indicator for amount of charge. These are two terrific improvements from my previous Neuton batteries. The only negative about this battery is the long amount of time that it takes for the shipping of the new batteries and related products, I hope this improves as the stock builds up.

Appears to work as advertised.

This battery has charged as advertised. The instructions could be improved. Be sure you charge it before use. It has kept my mower working as advertised. I haven't run it to the point of total discharge. The instructions could use improvement as to explaining what the button does, and how long the light will stay on if it is used as an emergency light. Suggested improvement, make the light with variable brightnesses.

Product Q&A
Ask a Question for This Product

Q.Can I use the 5.0 Ah Battery with any of the tools for which the 2.5 Ah Battery is recommended i.e., the PRO-16 Lawn Mower, and any of the PRO-62V Yard Tools—String Trimmer, Chainsaw, Hedge Trimmer, Blower?
A.Yes. The battery we recommend for each tool is based on operating comfort weight and balance and the runtime normally associated with that tool. But using the 5.0 Ah Battery is perfectly safe and will even double the runtime you can expect from each tool compared to the 2.5 Ah Battery we recommend for them.

Q.Can I charge a 2.5 Ah Battery on a 5.0 Ah Charger or vice versa?
A.Absolutely! The battery and charger combinations are interchangeable. The 5.0 Charger will charge either battery twice as fast as the 2.5 Ah Charger will. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Q.Can I use the smaller 2.5 Ah Battery with the DR PRO-21 or DR PRO-21SP Lawn Mower?
A.Yes. While we recommend the 5.0 Ah Battery for the PRO-21 and PRO-21SP mowers, the 2.5 Ah Battery also works and is perfectly safe. However, it will reduce the run time per charge that you can expect on those mowers by about half compared to the 5.0 Ah Battery. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.
